About Afgiftsklage
Afgiftsklage is a small, independent project that makes it easier to complain about a Danish transit fine (kontrolafgift), and tells you honestly when a complaint isn't worth it.
Why
Most people who get a fine just pay it, or give up after the first rejection. But it's the transport company that has to be able to document that the fine was given fairly, and some cases can actually be won. The problem is knowing which ones. That's even harder if you don't read Danish.
How
We've gone through more than 200 public decisions on transit fines from the Danish appeals board for bus, train and metro (Ankenævnet for Bus, Tog og Metro) and compared them with the shared nationwide travel rules. It shows quite clearly which arguments work and which almost never do. Your assessment and your complaint letter are built on that knowledge.
What we're not
- We're not lawyers and don't give legal advice.
- We're not affiliated with DSB, Movia, the Metro or any other transport company.
- We don't contact the company for you. You send the complaint yourself.
- We never write anything in a complaint that isn't true.
